Sustainability in e-commerce does not depend on a single actor, but on the collaboration between companies with a vision of impact. The case of Farmacity, pickit and e3Eco is a concrete example of how innovation in logistics and emissions measurement can work together to transform the last mile into a more efficient, inclusive and responsible model.
Farmacity: a cross-cutting commitment to sustainability
With more than 380 stores and a clear purpose- "to create wellness experiences and opportunities to improve lives"-, Farmacity has been promoting several environmental and social impact initiatives. Among them, the measurement of its carbon footprint, the elimination of physical tickets, the digitalization of processes and the adoption of sustainable packaging.
In the logistics area, the key partner is pickit, which for six years has been strengthening Farmacity's logistics with a model that reduces costs, generates economic opportunities for thousands of stores and distributors, and significantly reduces the carbon footprint thanks to its system of pick-up points.
e3Eco's role in carbon neutralization
The novelty of this success story is the incorporation of e3Eco, the e.tres solution, which allowed pickit to accurately measure the carbon footprint of Farmacity's logistics and neutralize it through the purchase of certified green bonds.
In this way, during the first half of 2025, all Farmacity shipments operated by pickit will be carbon neutral.
"Sustainability in digital commerce does not depend on a single company, but on ecosystems that think and act together. This project with Farmacity and pickit is an example of how collaborative work can generate economic, social and environmental impact at the same time", said Diego Gorischnik, CEO of e.tres.
